START FROM DAY ONE

8 Quick Rules for Better Mattress Care

Follow these simple care rules from the first day of use to help protect your mattress, maintain good support and reduce avoidable damage.

01

Use a Waterproof Protector

Fit a clean, correctly sized waterproof mattress protector from first use and keep it beneath your fitted sheet.

02

Use the Correct Support

Use a level, structurally sound and correctly sized base or frame with adequate centre support where required.

03

Rotate on Schedule

Rotate your mattress head-to-foot every two weeks during the first three months and at least every three months thereafter.

04

Flip Only When Permitted

Flip the mattress only when its product label identifies the mattress as double-sided.

05

Keep It Clean & Dry

Protect against spills, damp, mould, odours and infestation, and allow reasonable airflow around the mattress.

06

Clean Gently

Vacuum lightly and spot-clean only. Do not soak, steam-clean, bleach or use strong chemicals on the mattress.

07

Lift & Carry Correctly

Use at least two people and keep the mattress supported. Never drag, sharply bend, fold or tightly tie the mattress.

Product label prevails. If your mattress label or written product specification provides different product-specific care instructions, follow those instructions.
SUPPORT · PROTECTION · VENTILATION

Give Your Mattress the Support It Needs

An unsuitable base, trapped moisture or poor handling can contribute to premature mattress damage. The right foundation and everyday protection matter.

01

Use the correct base The base or frame should be correctly sized, level, dry, undamaged and strong enough for the mattress and its users.

02

Support larger beds properly Queen, King and other larger sizes need adequate centre support where required.

03

Avoid old or sagging foundations Do not place a new mattress on an old, broken, uneven, sagging or undersized base.

04

Allow ventilation Keep the mattress reasonably ventilated and avoid prolonged use directly on the floor where moisture may become trapped.

05

Protect against moisture Use a clean, breathable waterproof mattress protector and ensure it is completely dry before putting it back on the bed.

ROTATION & CLEANING

Rotate Regularly. Clean Gently.

Regular rotation helps distribute normal wear, while careful cleaning helps protect the mattress surface and internal materials.

KNOW WHAT TO LOOK FOR

Normal Mattress Changes vs Possible Defects

Mattresses naturally settle and soften with use. Some changes are normal, while others should be reported to Premium Bed for assessment.

USUALLY NORMAL

Expected Changes With Use

  • Gradual softening and settling of comfort layers.
  • A change in preferred firmness or subjective comfort.
  • Body impressions or indentations of 35 mm or less.
  • Minor cosmetic or dimensional variation within manufacturing tolerances.
REPORT FOR ASSESSMENT

Contact Premium Bed About These

  • A permanent indentation greater than 35 mm, measured without weight on the mattress.
  • Spring-system failure.
  • Abnormal foam collapse.
  • Structural base failure or loose joints.
  • Stitching failure that may be caused by workmanship.
  • Another condition materially affecting normal use that may indicate a manufacturing defect.
Measuring an indentation: Remove all bedding, place a rigid straight edge across the mattress and measure vertically to the deepest point with no person or object on the mattress. Take clear photographs showing the mattress, straight edge and measurement.
